During Project Theseus, the Federation began applying more advanced systems to their Generation 1 Mobile Suits. The Ez8's original core frame was upgraded with gundarium gamma. This modification completely redesigned the Mobile Suit from the ground up. Being both sturdier and lighter than the original RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type, the Ez8 was rechristened the Radical by the music enthusiast engineer that worked on the Ez8 RMC. The "Radical" was given an equipment pack that modified it for space combat.
